We have a luxurious Clubhouse created from a steel container which contains a kitchen and a lounge area.   The kettle is almost always on and tea and coffee are provided for free (bring your own milk though).

Our smooth grass strip is kept cut beautifully short by our own members using our own grass mowers.   Even small wheeled scale foam aircraft can perform scale length takeoffs from our strip.    The strip is both long enough and wide enough to accommodate all types of models, up to the 20kg limit, and several members even fly gas turbine jets from the strip on a regular basis.

We have just installed eight new start-up tables which allow members to safely tether their electric models while they are being prepared for flight.

The pits area is protected from runaway models by metal fencing running alongside the grass runway.

The windsock provides a clear indication of wind direction at all times.

Club members may purchase various types of glow fuel in 5l amounts at discounted prices.

We have made vast improvements to the access track, which now has a hard gravelled solid surface all the way to the clubhouse.  Access is via two locked gates as the track winds its way to the flying field, taking us half a mile from our nearest neighbours and into a lovely rural setting.  There is plenty of hard standing car parking space right next to the flying field with a concrete path leading to the pits and flightline.

We also have another enclosed "Conservatory" type area next to the clubhouse with an outside hardstanding picnic area  were members can sit and chat, watch the flying and generally put the world to rights!

Alongside these facilities we also have an external chemical toilet discretely positioned at the back of the clubhouse.

NEW TRACK TO CLUBHOUSE

To assist beginners who are learning to fly, we have several Club instructors who are willing to give their time to take budding pilots aloft and impart their knowledge for free.  As members progress with their training they can then avail themselves of the Club’s BMFA approved Examiners and take the BMFA ‘A’ test.

Grant money has enabled us to purchase training equipment to fully cater for the training of beginners of all ages and the club has several trainer aircraft already set up to help get beginners into the air quickly.  Our club instructors teach pupils to the BMFA certification standard and use a buddy transmitter arrangement to minimise any mishaps!

The club also operates a “Safe Solo Scheme” which allows members who have demonstrated competency to fly on their own, prior to achieving their BMFA “A” Certificate.  All club members are encouraged to try for their BMFA "A" certificate of competancy.

We offer free bacon sarnies throughout the year to members who are at the flying field on Sundays (see the "Events" button above for more details and dates).

We also hold a couple of BBQ days in the Summer months, which allow everyone attending to enjoy a burger, or a hotdog.  These events provide an opportunity for members to invite family members and guests from other clubs to come and have a fly and join in the fun (see the "Events" button above for more details and dates).

Bring and Buy / Swap Meets are held on an occasional basis throughout the year and these provide an oportunity to "bag that bargain" or sell that item you really don't need anymore.

We welcome new members, but as the entrance gates are locked, access to the flying field is only available when accompanied by a club member, so please contact us using the menu buttons above to arrange a visit.
